White Dress Gwen Stefani Wore on the Voice
Whatever Happened To Gwen Stefani's Pink Wedding Dress?
Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton tied the knot on July 3, 2021, and it looked straight out of a fairytale. The two musicians tied the knot at Shelton's ranch in Oklahoma, in a chapel that the "God's Country" singer had built for the occasion. Page Six reports that, while the ceremony was intimate, they did not skimp on the decorations, as the chapel and white tent were "adorned with lush flowers and greens."
According to "The Voice" host Carson Daly, who also happened to officiate the nuptials, the wedding was nothing short of perfect. "It was incredible to be a part of such an important moment in their lives," he told "TODAY." "The ceremony was a perfect blend of country and glamour, of course, just like Blake and Gwen ... The wedding, the best way to describe it, is it was perfectly them. The whole weekend and the marriage itself. It was as elegant and refined and cool as Gwen is, and it was country and down-home and fun as Blake is."
Another star of the show, of course, was Stefani's wedding dress — or dresses, rather. Fans had been wondering what the singer would wear on the big day because, once upon a time, she rocked a pink gown to her wedding with ex-husband Gavin Rossdale.
Gwen Stefani once said 'yes' to a pink dress
Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale called it quits in 2016, but the dress Stefani wore at their wedding in 2002 will live on in our minds and hearts forever. As far as celebrity bridal dresses go, it was anything but ordinary. Instead of the usual all-white ensemble, Stefani famously rocked a dip-dye wedding gown with a pink ombre hem, designed and hand-painted by John Galliano for Christian Dior.
Stefani's pink wedding dress spawned a colored wedding dress trend at the time, so after the wedding, the star donated it to the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, the same city where she got hitched. Vogue noted that she said it was a "piece of art," and so the iconic dress was included in the museum's "Wedding Dresses 1775-2014" exhibition, which also showcased the gowns of the Duchess of Cornwall, Kate Moss, Margaret Whigham, and more, per Vanity Fair.
Stefani loved the dress so much that she wore the same look in the promotional campaign of her fourth solo studio album. Per Observer, this dress also featured a pink ombre design, but this time around, it was designed by Christian Siriano. "I think it was a new updated version for her," he said. "It wasn't specifically designed for this album, but it fit right in and she looked like a queen!"
Gwen Stefani wore two dresses for her wedding to Blake Shelton
The pink ombre dress didn't make a reappearance at Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton's wedding, but it doesn't mean that her dresses were any less beautiful. The star sported not just one, but two wedding gowns designed by Vera Wang.
On Instagram, the famous designer described the wedding dress Stefani wore to the ceremony as a "custom lily white silk georgette and hand tumbled tulle high low gown with a plunging neckline and a cut away back." It was accompanied by a chapel-length veil of the same color, made even more special with Shelton and Stefani's first names embroidered along the edge, along with Stefani's kids' names, Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo.
Stefani channeled her inner rockstar for the reception as she wore what Wang detailed as a "custom lily white Italian sink crepe and hand tumbled tulle strapless mini dress with hand pieced silk, crystal and sequin embroidered foliage delicately trickling from the waist down the skirt." And, just like her ceremony gown, there are details on the dress that symbolized the couple and Stefani's three kids. The hand-sewn love birds represented Shelton and Stefani, while the baby love birds were for the children. The No Doubt singer completed the look the best way she knew how — by wearing stiletto cowboy boots.
